Searching for a Company to License the Manufacture and Marketing of a New Idea in Garage Door Ventilation
An Accessory to Improve Air Flow for Residential Garage Spaces in a Safe and Secure Way
This "Accessory" was patented as a user-friendly add-on to an existing overhead garage door. It provides a convenient way to allow abundant air flow. See the video below for a 4-minute demonstration of its installation, mounting, and operation using the current prototype. Contact Robert Arroyo at rfarro110@gmail.com with any interest or questions. A full set of preliminary engineering plans has been prepared and a prototype is available.

How it Works
Before
To achieve ventilation and air flow in garage spaces, many residents chose to open overhead garage doors partially or fully. However, this reduces privacy, exposes garage contents and may allow unwanted entry by animals or persons.
After
By leaving the door minimally opened with the opening covered by a secured aluminum screening, air flow is increased along with safety and security against unwanted intrusion by animals and persons.
Deployed for Ventilation Use
Once the Accessory is installed, see summary below, it is ready for use as needed and desired for improved ventilation throughout the day and year. It attaches to a standard garage door's existing components and is "deployed" when in the down position to allow for air flow, or can be "stowed" in the up position when not in use.
Stowed for Non-Use
The Accessory is easily lifted to place it in the stowed position. Clamps and a center strap to hold it in place while the door opens and closes. The Accessory can also be detached and removed if needed.
Design Features
1. User-Friendly Installation and Operation. Comes assembled. No special skills or tools needed to install. The Accessory mounts to the garage door's left and right lower roller axle stubs without modifications.
2. Low Profile Appearance. It's low-profile design works with many door styles and materials without changing the look and feel of the garage overall.
3. Bi-Fold Construction. The bi-fold design makes it easy to store and transport when removed. The Accessory is built in two equal parts and hinged together at the center.
4. Aluminum Components. Aluminum construction for light weight, strength, and corrosion resistance. The Accessory is made entirely of aluminum components to reduce added weight without sacrificing strength.
5. Variations Provided For. The Accessory as currently designed is intended for a single car, roll-up garage door 8 to 9 feet wide. A 16-foot wide, two car garage door design is under consideration. Custom units are also envisioned.
Installation is a "Breeze"
Installation should take as little as 10 to 15 minutes, in most cases. All work is performed inside the garage.
Step 1 - Preparation
Unpack, check for parts, and review instructions. Place a “deploy—stow” marker on door rail. Install brackets, one at the bottom center of the garage door and one each at the left and right ends of the door. These are the only add-ons to the garage door.
Step 2 - Attach to Door
Lay the device face down at the bottom of the closed garage door. Slide the extensions at each end over the roller axle stubs and lock. Then slip the center coupling in place and lock.
Step 3 - Opperate and Test
Raise the door to adjust for safe bottom clearance of the door and the Accessory’s door-stop. The Accessory is now ready for use with all door motion accomplished in the secured stow position. Optional side locks are available.
